Enter the Devil Dog

You ever have one of those days where you are trying to get a bunch of stuff done and your dog just doesn't understand? Instead of giving you the space you need, your pup howls, jumps up and down, pushes your hands off your keyboard, pushes you over, or brings you every toy that exists in your house.

Last week Dakota pushed me to the edge. It was with every ounce of sheer will that I did not jump up and crate her in her room. Instead, I decided to take a more passive approach.

Being a graphic designer, I grabbed a beautiful picture of Dakota and did my magic artwork. As I created my masterpiece, I felt the annoyance leave my body and a smile broaden my face. It was like therapeutic art in which you paint a bulls eye or mustache on that annoying coworker when you have had too much.

All stress left my body during those final moments of creativity. I was left laughing my head off as I witnessed my own creation - DEVIL DOG!! *laugh*

(No, Dakota did not stop annoying me but my creativity allowed me to just laugh at her annoying self rather than get angry. After a while, she gave up.)

Remember the Days of Pups

With Dakota weighing just around 84lbs and Cheyenne weighing in at 70lbs, it is difficult to remember when they were just wee pups and nothing more than 10lbs each. Those days have long gone and although I feel blessed every day that I see my own Labrador Retrievers, I can't help thinking back to when they were puppies. Alas, my online search for Labrador Retriever puppies came to this cute video of a puppy pack. Sure, they aren't my own pups but they are too cute not to pass along. Enjoy!

New Lab Brat Pictures

We have a great time at the dog park yesterday. The early morning hours provided the right amount of shade and cool breeze for our Labrador Retrievers. Needless to say, Dakota and Cheyenne have an awesome time and slept the rest of the day.



Always remember; a tired Lab is a good Lab. *wink*

(We know the pictures aren't super clear but we only post the medium quality pictures of our girls as some Internet users have begun to steal our high quality pictures to try selling them online for profit. Sorry.)

New Camera - Same Labs

Being owned by dogs and not having any children, it is imperative that I have the right camera to take the most perfect pictures of my Lab Brats. My last digital camera was well over 5 years old and although it was not dying, it lacked in a lot of areas. So, now I have a brand new camera and am testing it out on... what? Well, the Lab Brats of course!

The picture of Dakota came out wonderfully! However, Cheyenne's too dark for my liking. Heck, what am I complaining about? They are Chocolate Labrador Retrievers and they dont take bad pictures! *smile* Not to worry, I will read through the pamphlet and figure this camera out for better pictures of Cheyenne next time! Can't leave my baby girl out of the beauty contest!

Doggy Daycare Pictures

Last night the Lab Brats returned home from Doggy Daycare with pictures from their first day! Our old doggy daycare never did this type of thing and so we just had to share them with you.

Of course, they sent home a card asking us if we would like to purchase these pictures and others. Hmm - what kind of Labrador Retriever family would we be if we didnt have our digital camera and use it frequently? LOL
