Labs & 4th of July Safety

Independence Day and similar holidays are supposed to be a time for celebration, so why is your Lab not celebrating? Fireworks! Sure, they are pretty and give us a warm feeling of independence, but these big boomers are nothing to bark at! I have to say, I was surprised to note that neither of the labs responded to the "booms" in fright, but actually looked to the sky for birds :LOL: I was very pleased to see that.

However, the field retriever shook and trembled and reminded me of why people need to know how their dogs may respond and be able AND willing to give them a safe place to wait until everything 'blows' over. In our neighborhood unfortunately, it's still going on sporadically (it's the frggn 7th now people!), and it IS frustrating.
