Still Sick Pups
Waiting is always the hardest part.
Yesterday was my husband's turn to get a stool sample from Cheyenne as Dakota is now having a problem with loose stools. At 1am Thursday morning, I hear this tapping noise and couldn't figure out what it was. Unlike Cheyenne's barking, Dakota scratches at the back door when she wants to be let out. Well, it was her turn to go and go she did.
I took the stool sample to the vet first thing yesterday morning. After handing them $17 to check my pup's poop (laugh), they told me that they would call me Friday if they found anything. Well, today is Friday and now I get to sit here and wait like a patience doggy mommy. I hate to say it but I hope they find something easy like worms so they can give me some medicine for the Lab Brats and we can be done with it. If they don't find anything in the stool, then we will need to bring Cheyenne in for a full physical and we all know how expensive that can get.
I mean, her energy, appetite, and demeanor are great and you can't tell there is a problem until you see her bowel movements. Their daddy and I have refrained from giving them any human treats and they have been going insane; wondering what they did wrong that they aren't able to have some watermelon or even a bit of yogurt. I truly feel bad for them and pray this is over with soon. So, some doggy prayers are more than welcome and hopefully the Lab Brats will be on their way to recovery within a few short hours.

What kind of food does Cheyenne eat? I have two black labs, Luke & Lily (yes, definitely part of the family). Luke, like Cheyenne, appeared healthy in every way except the "loose stools". (The "pup poop" was negative for him also). Lily can eat anything. The first product I found that works wonders in Eagle Pack Holistic Solution. You just sprinkle it on Cheyenne's food. Second, I make sure that the food I'm feeding has no corn or artifical preservatives, etc. They're currently on Solid Gold Hund N Flocken, but do well on other premium foods also (lamb & brown rice based a must for Luke!). I also give them Solid Gold Seameal (a vitamin supplement). They are both glisten and are always getting compliments. Best of all - no loose stool!
be positive - they'll both be ok, looking at the normal activity level :)
probably just ate something funny.
*hugz to both - Eski giving you guys hi-paw-5*
Thanks for your well wishes. The Lab Brats have been on Eagle Pack Holistic Select® Anchovy, Sardine & Salmon Meal Formula for well over a year since they are both allergic to chicken and chicken by-products. This food has been awesome for their health, coats, and skin so I don't think it is the dog food.
We never did get a call from the vet so it seems everything is fine with the "poop". I guess we will just keep an eye on them right now and see how it goes. Of course, prayers for good health are always welcome. :)
